Footstool frames can even be built to showcase the design of a favourite kilim where the rug edge pattern can form its own interesting border naturally.
I love adding interesting borders to my designs. I even like to build furniture around a striking pattern suitable for a border. They can add a subtle sophisticated uniformity as in the geometric footstool below, or provide a dramatic interesting contrast as in this boys' triangular surf board footstool above.
